Like many people when 2011 turned into 2012, I made a new year’s resolution my new year’s resolution was the same of when 2010 turned into 2011 but I did not achieve it but this year I gave it another got this year, after all as the saying goes if you don’t succeed try, try again. I will admit that my chosen New Year’s Eve goal is a less common new year’s resolution but one I do care about and will attempt to achieve.
Common new year’s resolution are goals like quitting smoking, losing weight and eating healthy but you see for me as an individual I don’t smoke I am happy with my weight and while I do enjoy the occasional burger chips and coke, but it is nothing to worry about.
My new year’s resolution is to read one book a week for the year. Or 52 books before we all welcome the new year which will be 2013. The issue which I am facing is last year I finished a grand total of maybe ten books. This is due to studying mainly studying lack of motivation and I sort of forgot about it around March and some of you may be rightfully wonder why will this year be any different, but I do love reading, and I do regularly read but I didn’t count books I have already previously read, magazines, newspapers, computer articles and text books. (But if I did count text books I would be nearing the hundreds I think.)
So I recently purchased a bunch of books from every poor students favourite place, the op shop and I am currently reading book number one (and yes I realise I am a few days behind but I only truly decided to do this a few days ago.) Now I must admit I am a little worried about copy right over here, am I allowed to name and say what book I am reading on this blog and take about, I am sure I can but I am hoping some wonderful person out there would put me straight.
The plan is for each week to name the book and write a review on each book this will help keep me on track.
Anyway thanks for reading my blog and I will be giving the review of book number one as soon as I do finish it (unless naming books it authors is a major no- no of course), and if anyone has some really great recommendations of books please let me know just hit the comment button. And as I do have access to a public library I should be able to track it down. Thanks again!
